How to use the keywords

  1. Start with the must-have skills and tools. These are what ATS filters and recruiters check first.
  2. Match the employer's wording exactly. "Microsoft Excel" and "spreadsheets" are different strings to an ATS.
  3. Show each keyword in context in your experience bullets, not only in a skills list.
  4. Only include what's true. You'll be asked about it in the interview.
  5. Keep the CV format simple: one column, standard headings, no text inside images.

FAQ

Why do keywords from the job description matter?

Most employers use an applicant tracking system (ATS) that ranks CVs by how closely their wording matches the job ad. If the ad says "stakeholder management" and your CV says "working with stakeholders", many systems won't count it as a match.

Should I add every keyword to my CV?

No. Add the ones that genuinely describe your experience, starting with the must-have skills and tools. Recruiters will ask about anything you list, so never add skills you don't have.

Where should keywords go on my CV?

Put the most important ones in both a Skills section and inside your experience bullets, where you can show how you used them. Use the employer's exact wording.

Is this tool free?

Yes. The keyword extractor is free with no sign-up. You can also check your CV against the same job ad to get a free ATS score and a list of the keywords your CV is missing.
